he's done it again

i'm keeping up the sisyphean task of shortening my wip list. here's one piece of my summer wardrobe finished:

brrrr! sorry for the crappish pic but it'll have to do.

specs:
pattern: turtleneck shrug by teva durham in scarf style
yarn: just over four balls of rowan kid classic, shade 832 peat
needles: 4.5mm addis (40cm)

i'm a little annoyed that i had to dip into the fifth ball of yarn to finish this. the sleeves are very long, which will be a good thing, of course, in winter, but if i'd made them a bit shorter than the pattern said i would have used only the four balls specified in the book. now i have 35 grams of kid classic left - is that enough for a hat?

now for some proper summer stuff:

i finally finished mine! i think took four times as long as anyone else that's made this.

specs:
pattern: one skein wonder by stefanie japel at glampyre knits
yarn: less than two balls of debbie bliss cotton angora, shade 15507
needles: 6mm and 4.5mm addi turbos
modifications: i knit the moss stitch bands in the round instead of flat. also, i had to cast off with a bloody 8mm needle because i did it way too tightly the first time.

mr. husband the miracle photographer also took this shot:

i'm beginning to wonder if it's the glampyre patterns that do it. it sorta looks like i have a tan, too. pure magic.
