beginnings
happy new year and thanks for all the sweet comments about the fo galore thing i've got going the last couple of weeks! i love you all!
rest assured there will be no finished things this week. i planned to write up a little overview of my wip list for you, you know, all illustrated and such, but there is that small matter of light. it's not here. i took a bunch of pics under my trusty superbright lamp that always helps me out in winter, but even they ended up way too dark to use. except for one:
the shaky beginnings of eunny's endpaper mitts. the brown yarn is babyull from dalegarn, the teal lanett from sandnesgarn. both are fingering weight superwash merinos.
this is my first fairisle in, well, 20-25 years, i guess. it's not as easy as i remember it from my childhood. sometimes i wish i didn't read blogs, so i wouldn't know about yarn domimance and how different needles suit different yarns and the correct way to cast on and off and a gazillion ways to increase and decrease. those were the easy days; when i just did my own thing. of course, the end result was often crap. plus i didn't have my stash, nor four different coloured chibis so i could pick the exact right darning needle to suit my project.
anyway, seeing as there are no more pictures for you to look at, i suggest you have a look at the cooles xmas gift we received this year: our new little pet, the robomop!
