little fluffy clouds

is more than the brilliant track by the orb, it is also the term used for garments made out of kidsilk haze.

specs
pattern: kelly from erika knight's classic knits, second smallest size
yarn: rowan kidsilk haze in 582 trance (held double), just under 7 balls
needles: 3mm and 3.75mm addi turbos
mods: i used hammer-in press studs instead of the sew-in variety

as you can hopefully see from the above photo i found some studs that just have small circles on the front. i think it works very well with the lightness of the garment.

there is less than 175 grams of yarn in this cardi. the studs don't add much to that and on my kitchen scales the whole thing weighs exactly 175 grams.

i already owned the erika knight book, but hadn't really noticed the cardi until rebecca started knitting it. she has just blogged about her finished kelly - it's so beautiful and looks quite different from mine, i think. it's funny how changing the colour and the change a project completely.

anyway, i saw rebecca's post, fell in love with the pattern, remembered the beautiful teal yarn in my stash, and realised that i didn't have enough. fortunately, stephy had some in the same dyelot and very generously offered to send it to me. for that i am eternally grateful! knitbloggers truly are the best people.

this picture was taken just as i was explaining to the husband that he had to make sure i looked ok - no hair getting in the way and no angles or poses making me look like i could give birth to an elephant without much pain. it's nice to know he pays attention when i speak.
