i beg your pardon, i never promised you a ...

specs
pattern: see below
yarn: fleece artist merino, colourway rose garden
needles: 2.25mm dpns
these started out as anna's giotto socks, but after the beautiful cuff i switched to stocking stitch so as not to obscure the stitch pattern with the beautiful variegation in the yarn.

the heel flap was worked over half the stitches and has a three stitch garter edge. the heel turn was made around four central stitches.
the toe is the star toe of three points from knitting vintage socks, which i chose partly because it suits my pointy toes and partly because of the purl decreases which match the garter stitch heel flap edge as well as the purl rows in the cuff.

along with the sunshine
there's gotta be a little rain sometimes
the last 24 hours it has rained more in bergen than it did in the whole month of june. it is definitely wool sock wearing weather and leaving work this afternoon i missed my yellow gloves as i struggled to manoeuvre my umbrella in the wind.
i guess this means all is back to normal here. the fellesferie - the "general holiday"; three weeks in july where norway shuts down - started this week so what else is there to expect but rain? my summer holiday is fortunately not until next month, which should give me plenty of time in july to conquer the polkadot jersey in the tour de france knit-along. more on that soon!
