i would go out tonight, but i haven't got a stitch to wear

though i do have two different finished socks.

specs
pattern: eleanora from mimknits.com
yarn: lorna's laces shepherd sock in pewter
needles: 2 and 2.25mm dpns
mods: i continued the leg stitch pattern down the heel flap instead of using the sl1-k1 as written, and did a 3-stitch garter selvedge.

yes, there's only one sock and it's still an fo. i made this for a knitter friend who will finish up the pair herself.

i love me a good folded hem! combined with the diamond stitch pattern this makes for a beautiful cuff.

here's a closeup of the heel; the only time i'm absolutely happy with my picked up gusset stitches is when i do a garter stitch selvedge. no holes, nothing weird at all. happy happy.

the stitch pattern continues down the toe.

aaaaaand the other single sock?

it's from this drops pattern; a bulky sock in garnstudio drops eskimo, knitted sideways. i meant to graft the back seam, but there was a snafu in the provisional cast-on and i ended up using a three-needle bind of which turned out completely invisible on the right side. *whew*

of course, instead of starting the second sock, i did this:

a brand new argyle sock is born. the pattern is from véronik avery's beautiful new book, knitting classic style. i'm using silja sock yarn from my stash, believe it or not. sometimes i actually use something from it! it's a weird feeling.
