already?

yesterday the first winter storm of the season, named andrea, hit the west coast of norway. i had to leave work early, jump into my wellies, and drive to the summer house to tie down the garden furniture before it was all blown out to sea.

these are my white viking wellies ... authentic 80s vintage! we wore them with the cuff turned down so the blue lining showed (and our 501s were so short you could prolly see our white tennis socks with blue and red stripes as well). my friend decorated hers with the names of her fave artists, written in blue biro.

anyway. no point in wellies today; we've got snow instead! gah. fortunately i am off to warsaw tomorrow for a long weekend with the girls! the temps are supposed to be around zero so my winter parka is coming, too. also in my suitcase, a fine selection of handknitted scarves, gloves, hats, and socks - not the least these:

the husband's argyle socks are coming along splendidly. i am actually past the gusset decreases on the second sock already. socks are quicker on 3mm needles than 2mm, i tell you. let's hope i don't lose momentum when it comes to the duplicate stitching. i am sensing that is a possibility.

oh and guess who else is going to warsaw? bloom! (maybe i'll get some fo photos there.) i have absolutely no yarn left over. nothing whatsoever. nada. nil. zero. however, who cares as long as i won the yarn race?
